UPDATE: Runway Closure – Maintenance

Good Afternoon,

One last follow-up on the pavement maintenance.

When the contractor fog-sealed Taxiway ALPHA, they went straight up the taxiway with the edge of the pavement.  We would like to get total seal on the pavement where it extends into Taxiways Delta, Echo and Foxtrot, the ramp connectors along Alpha.  The contractor crew will be returning Saturday afternoon (Aug 24) to accomplish this.

The fog seal needs to set up overnight, so these connectors will be blocked off until Sunday morning.  Flight activities from the hangar complex Saturday afternoon and evening should consider using Taxiway Charlie or the Crosswind Runway to access Alpha and Runway 15-33.

EVERYONE, please use caution on Cessna with a mix of planes and vehicles.

Please pass this on to your pilots and tenants.

Thank you,

Dave

Good Evening,

I apologize for the lack of updates … RISE Broadband has been out for the past few days and I’ve had no internet ;(

Progress on the pavement maintenance has been slow but steady.  They got over half of the runway fog sealed today before the showers came in.  They should complete fog seal tomorrow and begin painting, but the latter will have to extend into Friday.  So, all paved surfaces will probably remain closed until 2000, Friday evening.  They will probably still have some striping to do Saturday, but they have assured me that the runway/airport will be open.

I’ll try to get another update out tomorrow night …

Dave

MLAA runway 15/33 and 08/26 and taxiways at the airport will be closed from 0800 on Monday, August 12th till 2000 on Friday, August 16th to allow pavement maintenance to take place.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need for further clarification.

Thank you,

Dave Elliott
